Senior System Engineer | DevOps

As a member of our system engineering/devops team you will be working on automating our deploy system, infrastructure architecture, and application monitoring. You will be working together with our Engineering team to constantly improve quality and stability of our system and help us scale highly dynamical infrastructure running up to thousands of servers in parallel.

Some of the tasks you would be focusing on are:

  • Maintain multiple environments on several different cloud providers.
  • Making sure that the infrastructure can support our platform at any given moment.
  • Monitor thousands of instances in real time.
  • Research new technologies that will make our platform even more resilient.

An ideal candidate would:

  • Have 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Very good knowledge of Linux/Unix system administration and internals.
  • Good knowledge of Bash, Python or Go.
  • Have working knowledge of network design and implementation.
  • Have extensive working experience with automation, monitoring, and deploy processes.
  • Have experience with maintaining an infrastructure ran on top of major Cloud providers (AWS, Google Cloud etc.)

The Senior Project Manager will provide coordinated management and delivery of professional services to Seven Bridges commercial accounts (research facilities, pharmaceutical companies, non-US government programs, etc.) throughout the globe, reporting into our Senior Director of Operations.

 

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage the creation of Project Charters, Project Plans, and Estimates for each phase of delivery (Requirements, Design, Implementation).
  • Coordinate and manage the delivery of services provided by Seven Bridges highly skilled and industry leading Bioinformaticians (PhD’s), technical resources, and other delivery specialists.
  • Prepare SOW's, project deliverables, presentations, and status reports to both internal and external customers.
  • Review and approve time reports and resolve any discrepancies as needed.  Ensure billable hours are accurately recorded conforming to contractual commitments.
  • Provide assistance when needed for non-technical project activities (coordinating meetings, data collection and formatting, etc.).
  • Work with our Finance Department to resolve any billing related issues as required.
  • Ensure that all project team members have a clear understanding of their assignments, due dates and ensure that all assignments are completed on time and within budget.
  • Keep the Project Sponsor informed of status and potential issues.

 

Qualifications and competencies: 

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of training and a minimum of five years experience.
  • Professional demeanor in person and on video conferences with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
