As a member of our Engineering department, you will have the opportunity to extend our platform by building innovative tools and products, and be involved in designing new and custom solutions. You will work on a subset of our 80+ production services and tools and be involved with their design, implementation, integration, unit testing, as well as deployment and operation of these services. You will also be involved in understanding and analyzing various biomedical datasets on one end and design and implement the data ingress pipeline for various datasets used on the platform.

Main responsibilities:

  • All activities related to importing various datasets to Seven Bridges Platform and be able to:
    • Understand the origin of data, both in terms of  vocabulary and technical aspects of representing a dataset  (established domain vocabularies, data formats, access policies, etc.).
    • Interpret data and advise on devising the best structure for the data that is imported to the Seven Bridges Platform.
    • Parse the source data and transform it to the above constructed model for it to be used on Seven Bridges Platform.
  • Manage data (follow changes) throughout its lifecycle, from creation and initial storage to the time it is archived for posterity or becomes obsolete and is therefore deleted.
  • Keep track of the industry trends  and update/adapt data in order to provide ground for new features.
  • Understand different datasets that cover different areas of research and advise on most beneficial ones to import to the Seven Bridges Platform.
  • Provide support for the available datasets on the Seven Bridges Platform.

An ideal candidate would:

  • Have an understanding of and experience in analyzing biomedical data.
  • Be proficient in Python and/or Java, data extraction, analysis and ETL.
  • Have a passion for information retrieval problems and solutions.
  • Have basic knowledge of different database systems, REST APIs and various data formats like XML, JSON, CSV, TSV...

It would be great if you:

  • Have formal education in Medicine, Pharmacy, Molecular Biology or related scientific field.

You will work with our Operations and Engineering teams to constantly improve security of our system and help us scale highly dynamical infrastructure running thousands of servers in parallel.


An ideal candidate would:

  • Have a strong understanding of security principles, methodologies, and best practices.

Bioinformatics Scientist

As a member of the Computational Biology team at Seven Bridges, you will be working with an international team of scientists and engineers. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks including designing novel data analysis algorithms, developing production-level software tools, learning state-of-the-art solutions to bioinformatics problems through literature research, developing and implementing scientifically sound methods to assess the performance of various bioinformatics approaches. Most of the R&D tasks that you will undertake at Seven Bridges will require a multi-disciplinary background spanning computer science, data science, bioinformatics, genomics, biology and scientific research. You will document your work in technical reports and presentations, which will help with the dissemination of information both within the R&D team and also outside the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze high-throughput genomic data obtained from NGS technologies (Illumina, PacBio, Oxford Nanopore, etc.)
  • Develop end-to-end bioinformatics pipelines that take raw genomic data (germline DNA, somatic/cancer, RNAseq, etc.) and produce clinically-relevant outputs.
  • Develop and maintain NGS algorithms/tools improving speed, accuracy, and automation.
  • Come up with novel benchmarking methods and implement them in order to compare different bioinformatics solutions to a given problem.
  • Remain up-to-date with third party bioinformatics tools through literature review and computational experiments. Evaluate and utilize them in bioinformatics pipelines as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Master or preferably PhD degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • Experience in data analysis for next-generation sequencing (NGS) experiments (e.g. whole genome germline and somatic, RNA-seq, DNA methylation, and ChIP-seq).
  • Experience with bioinformatics tools such as GATK, Sentieon, BWA, VCFtools, pysam, RTGtools, and others.
  • Experience in building and delivering NGS data analysis pipelines.
  • Proven experience in cancer/somatic sequencing data analysis, tumor/normal bioinformatics pipelines and somatic variant callers such as Strelka, MuTect, Platypus, VarDict, etc.
  • Familiarity with cancer-related resources and databases such as TCGA, ICGC and COSMIC.
  • Strong experience in Python and Jupyter notebooks.
  • Capable of executing R&D tasks in a fast-paced product-oriented environment.
  • Ability to conduct both independent and collaborative research.
  • Excellent documentation, presentation and communication skills in English.

Nice to have:

  • Clinical/Lab experience with NGS technologies.

As a Director of Customer Success you will manage the team responsible for client success and adoption of the Seven Bridges solution. You will be the key owner of the Customer Success teams performance, metrics, and day-to-day operations.

Your team will cultivate relationships with the Seven Bridges commercial client base, ensuring that they achieve maximum value from the Seven Bridges Software  and Services solution encouraging them to expand their usage of the Platform and services. The Executive Assistant will support Seven Bridges Executive Management team with a variety of daily operational tasks including meeting coordination, travel plans, and expense reports.  This individual will also be the main point of contact for our headquarters based in Charlestown, MA, and will be responsible for answering the company’s main phone line, ordering office supplies and equipment, and working with facility management as needed.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Provide day to day support for Executive Management team including Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Scientific Officer, and Chief Revenue Officer – set up meetings, book travel, and complete expense reports along with other support tasks as needed.
  • Answer company phone, direct calls to appropriate parties, and take messages.
  • Manage and order office supplies and computer equipment; Maintain office supplies budget.
  • Serve as point of contact for Facility Management communications, including office work orders.
  • Maintain conference rooms and ensure equipment is in working order.  
  • Ensure office environment maintains a professional appearance; Help set up new workstations.
  • Handling various administrative tasks in a timely and accurate fashion.

Qualifications and competencies

  • Associate Degree or above preferred.
  • Professional demeanor in person and on the telephone.
  • Prior experience supporting Executive Management team in a Personal Assistant capacity.

In this role, you will take a strategic and consultative approach in identifying, qualifying, and developing a flush pipeline of new business opportunities, with annual deal sizes ranging from the low six figures to seven figures.

Our Sales Development Representative will join our incredibly talented and experienced Commercial Sales Team reporting to our Chief Revenue Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Research, identify, and qualify Accounts in our Commercial segments

We are looking for talented individuals to contribute to our Scientific Operations Team with a unique combination of skills, both technical and consultative, to develop and grow our customer relationships in both the public and private sector. The Scientific Operations Team at Seven Bridges is made up of scientists who possess a unique balance of technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills. We are looking for individuals that demonstrate the ability to think strategically about business questions, understand the problems that customers need to solve, develop strategies for implementing solutions, and help our customers achieve success.

As a Scientific Operations Team member you will interact with customers, business development managers, engineers, and product teams to architect scalable, flexible, and creative solutions for some of the largest institutions in healthcare and life sciences. You will become an expert user of the Seven Bridges Platform and showcase specific value propositions of the platform for each engagement by giving on-site or virtual demos, talking to customers and understanding their needs.

In this role, you will meet with customers frequently and act as their chief advocate for on-demand issue resolution. While you may do some hands-on analysis, your primary work will focus on working with internal analysts and engineers to deliver solutions to customers. Your frequent customer interactions will also allow you to contribute to the product development and marketing.

In addition, you will lend your scientific expertise to the development of new scientific proposals, responses to RFIs, and grant applications. You will also contribute to the preparation of scientific publications, conference presentations, and white-papers. You will be responsible for the completion of proposals, including initial review, response coordination, production, final assembly, and delivery.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as primary point of contact during customer engagement.
  • Work closely with the Business Development Managers and lead the technical side of commercial and public program engagements.
  • Perform customer and project needs assessment and requirements gathering.
  • Collaborate with bioinformatics scientists and software engineers to design and deploy solutions for our customers, including company products and customizations, and present these solutions and results to our customers.
  • Work with customers to ensure that their scientific projects are successful and that they gain value from our platform.
  • Maintain and track the relationship with the customers and become the internal authority on customer issues, needs, and future plans.  
  • Troubleshoot problems with customers and strategize on solutions, coordinating with internal teams.
  • Become an expert user of the Seven Bridges Platform by learning to run genomics analyses, set up new workflows, build simple scripts with the R or Python API, or do basic debugging of analyses on our platform.
  • Train our customers by running customized educational workshops.
  • Understand the broader canvas of customer needs and bring this feedback to our product teams, advocating strongly for market-driven changes to our roadmap.
  • Use your scientific expertise to contribute to high-quality written RFP and RFI responses, including writing executive summaries and responses, and editing technical components.
  • Present company and customer success stories at conferences and industry events.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • PhD in genetics, bioinformatics, molecular biology or related discipline, but will consider strong candidates with undergraduate or masters in same disciplines as well as 3-5 years of experience.
  • Experience conducting genomics experiments or analyzing omics data (e.g. RNA-seq, Exome-seq, ChIP-seq, proteomics, imaging analysis etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with cross-functional dynamic teams during the course of a scientific or technical project.
  • Ability and enthusiasm to learn new concepts and technical skills rapidly.
  • Good communications skills with customers, researchers, team and stakeholders with the ability to deliver compelling technical presentations.

As a Solutions Consultant, you will work hand-in-hand with the Sales team to introduce Seven Bridges’ unified analytic platform to our customers. You will help prospective customers and strategic partners understand the value of Seven Bridges professional and consultative services, develop a customized bioinformatics ecosystem to solve their unique challenges, and ultimately reduce the time, cost and risk associated with bringing new therapeutics to market.

As a Solutions Consultant, you will interact with prospective customers, account executives, bioinformatics, and product teams to architect scalable, flexible, and creative solutions for some of the largest institutions in healthcare and life sciences. You will drive revenue growth by helping to unearth customer’s business objectives and current pains and showcasing uniquely crafted value propositions for each engagement.
